Tilley

At Arthur Beale's we are often asked for wide brimmed hats and we like to respond to our clients requests. With more and more people suffering from the powerful effect of the sun, a good hat is now an essential piece of kit.

The original Tilley Hat was designed by Alex Tilley, a keen sailor, who took some sailcloth along to a milliner and said "I want a hat as good as my boat".
We are not sure what his boat was like, but the hats are in a class of their own. For a start they float! That is because there is a non-absorbing foam liner in the crown which protects your noggin too. They have a tucked away wind cord for blowy days. A secret pocket too. The quality is such that they are guaranteed for life, even insured for two years! But probably the best reason the buy a genuine Tilley Hat is blissful comfort!
