National Historic Ships UK Photo Competition 2019

The results were annouced on Tuesday 26th November at the Queens House in Greenwich. Arthur Beale sponsors one of the categories. We were fed excellent canapes and bubbling wine while I stood and had a chat with Graeme Phanco from Glasgow who was one of the entrants. We were then marched off through the historic building to the awards ceremony.

And the winners were:

Category A OUR HISTORIC VESSELS

"Ena - Heroine of Dunkirk, saved 100 lives, now rotting in the mud on the Hoo peninsula, by David Stearne"

Category D FACES OF THE SEA

Winner: "Larry, by George Fisk - It was made possible to capture this image thanks to the work of Jack Lowe: https://lifeboatstationproject.com/"

Category B A TRUE CLASSIC

Winner: "Priscilla CK437 at Rowhedge Regatta 2019, by Sandy Miller"

Category C WISH YOU WERE HERE

"Trinity’s Little Helper, by Stacey Belbin "

Category - OK Graeme didn't quite make it again!

"Puffer VIC 32 on the River Clyde" by Graeme Phanco

I sneaked this photo in because Graeme has been shortlisted for about six years and never quite makes it to the top. I think the picture is great although environmentally on tricky ground. He mentioned that the Fifes are back racing on the Clyde next year so maybe that will be his chance!
