Gill have tweaked their popular OS2 Offshore Jackets with a new colour and some extra visibility features. The new high vis yellow strip around the hood plus high vis features on the zip pullers and the hanging loop at the back will all prove handy in the dark. The fabric remains the same. Gill have 40 years of experience developing fabrics. They don’t use proprietary brands but continue to perfect their own material. The OS2 jacket is a triple layer fabric which will withstand a 30,000 mm hydrostatic head, or to put it another way - it is waterproof! But it is also breathable, in fact BS7209 gives it a 75% breathability rating which is very impressive. None of this technology would be much use if the jacket wasn’t built to withstand tough conditions so Gill test them with abrasive paper to make sure they will last the distance. You have to look closely at the jackets to really appreciate the detailed features like the brilliantly adjustable hood and small mesh inserts in the corners of the fleece pockets.
