Classic Boat Awards
Last night I was invited to attend the Classic Boat Awards Ceremony by Michael Wright, the proud owner of Carlotta a Bristol Channel Pilot Cutter built in 1899. Carlotta had been nominated in two award categories, as the “Best Restored Sailing Vessel Over 40ft” and also “Centenariun of the Year”.
Arthur Beale were proud to have supplied various bits of chandlery, charts and a tender and outboard for Carlotta.
We were almost as pleased as Michael was when the boat not only picked up the Best Restoration award but then went on to collect the best Centenariun award too! Well done Michael and his teams of boatbuilders at Elephant Boatyard on the Hamble, and Abernethy and Gaudin Boatyard on Vancouver Island.
I reckon there will be a bit of fun and games in those tight harbours with that offset prop, maybe an opportunity for Arthur Beale to sell a few massive roving fenders!
Classic Boat laid on a wonderful event in the opulent surroundings of the Royal Thames Yacht Club. Thank you Classic Boat and Michael for a great evening.
and what a lovely boat!
