We always really appreciate your custom but especially now that the shop is closed for the lockdown period. 90% of our sales were through the shop so obviously finances have been blown skyhigh. We are now totally dependent on the online sales to keep afloat.
To encourage sales we have introduced a "Save Arthur Beale" section to the website where we are adding lovely items that we actually hold in stock at fantastic prices. Alex has also been busy with a little "Isolation Bookshop" with his book recommendations from our well stocked bookshelves. But dont hang around, right now this is "when its gone, its gone".
We did manage to submit our business interruption loan application form but it seems the banks are overwhelmed with applications. We were certainly not able to speak with our Relationship Manager and so we dont expect any reply to our application for several weeks at least. In the meantime we are still needing to pay the wages and there is no sign of the Government furlough refund.
Every little sale from our stock is a massive help to keep the business going - thank you all so much.
As many of you are sailors it must be hard not being able to get out on the water but we must wait to ensure this horrendous virus can't spread further.
