If you are using Grade 7 anchor chain, then you will find that there isn't a shackle strong enough to fit through the end link. To avoid a potential weak point point we stock these galvanised Rud connectors which will exceed the breaking load of the chain. The pin is a hardened steel oval shape to increase the strength. It is held securely in place with the drive pin. Once the Rud connector is secured to the end link of the chain it will present you with a suitably large loop so that you can choose a suitable large shackle to finally join the chain to the anchor slot. Phew!
