Nylon Sewn Climbing Slings (Conforming to EN566)
These strong and economical Nylon slings have a wide variety of uses on board a boat. They can be used to attach pulleys to cleats or toe rails. They can be helpful to raise blocks clear of the deck or coachroof to improve the lead of sheets for storm sails. Longer ones can be attached under the boom as a means of anchoring a preventor without having to lean over the side of the yacht to reach the anchor point. They can be quickly slung over a boom to attach rescue tackle (see the Jag System elsewhere on this website). Endless other uses. Be aware that the breaking load of nylon does decrease very slightly when the sling is damp and continual exposure to UV will also eventually decrease its strength.
