This event is not at Arthur Beale's Shop but from Claudia's very own studio in Suffolk Unit 7, Hall Farm Church Lane Martlesham Suffolk IP12 4PQ www.claudiamyatt.co.uk There is also a guest artist Susie Hammond. If Suffolk is too far to go then don't despair, we always have a great selection of Claudia's work available from our shop including her lovely Children's Log Books. Claudia did the cover for Peter Willis' new book "Good Little Ship" due to be launched at Arthur Beale on 16th November.

Funeral of Steve Harvey

Steve Harvey worked at Arthur Beale's for over 24 years. Sadly he recently died after a planned heart operation. He will be greatly missed by the staff and many of the customers of Arthur Beale. His funeral will be held on 14th September 11am at The City of London Crematorium, Manor Park, South Chapel. Please feel free to attend. Arthur Beale will organise a small evening event in his memory in the near future.

An Illustrated Talk by Peter Willis Arthur Ransome’s "We Didn’t Mean to Go to Sea" was inspired by his boat the Nancy Blackett which appears in the book as the Goblin. But there was more to her influence on the novel than that, as Peter Willis shows in this new book, which combines an analysis of this classic of maritime literature (“a book of which Conrad would have been proud” – Hugh Brogan) with the history of the boat herself, her life, near-death, restoration and renaissance as an ambassador for Ransome and his tales.
